Epiphany 2018 in Naples

Epiphany in Naples is such an emotional feast day that several events have been organised in this period of the year.

On this day it is tradition to give children a stocking full of candies and chocolates. So, during the night between Friday the 5th and Saturday the 6th, you cannot miss a walk among the typical stands of Piazza Mercato.

On Saturday, the unmissable initiative called ‘The flying Befana’ , which is usually supported by the Naples Municipality and the Provincial Fire Department, takes place in Piazza Plebiscito. At 10.30 a.m. the funny old woman will climb down from the Royal Palace by using the firefighters telescopic stairs to give sweets to all the children who will be attending the event. Just like the previous editions, educational and entertainment activities will be held and they will be available only for the children who will be there.

In the afternoon, you’d rather go to Lungomare Caracciolo that will host non-stop exhibitions from 10.30 am to 07.00 p.m. There will be street acrobats, tightrope walkers, magicians and jugglers performing all day long to amuse all the spectators.
